Please note that the cottage is serviced by a sand point water system and septic system. To help ensure reliable water service and prevent plumbing issues during your stay, we kindly ask that you:

Water Usage

• Avoid excessively long showers.

• Avoid taking back-to-back showers whenever possible.

• Do not run the dishwasher while someone is showering.

• Please reserve baths for young children only, as large tubs use a significant amount of water.

Septic System

• Flush toilet paper only.

• Do not flush wipes (including those labeled "flushable"), paper towels, feminine hygiene products, diapers, tissues, cotton swabs, or any other items.

• Avoid overloading the toilet with excessive amounts of toilet paper at one time.

Thank you for your cooperation. These simple precautions help keep the water and septic systems functioning properly for everyone and ensure a comfortable stay for all guests.

The garburator is intended for small food particles left behind after rinsing dishes only. Please scrape all food scraps and waste into the garbage before placing dishes in the sink.

Please do not put large amounts of food, food scraps, grease, oils, coffee grounds, or any other garbage down the kitchen sink or garburator.

Putting excessive food or waste down the drain can cause serious clogs and disrupt the cottage’s plumbing and water system, including the toilets.

Heating

The heat is typically turned off from June to August, as it’s usually not needed. However, if you do feel chilly, you can adjust the thermostat—located on the wall next to the bunk bed room—by turning the dial to the ‘Comfort Zone’ to control the heat in the living room and kitchen. Make sure the breaker switch is on (you’ll find the panel in the kitchen cabinet next to the fridge).

Baseboard heaters are located in the following areas:

• Living room: behind the couch

• Kitchen: under the table

• Large bathroom: under the vanity

• Bedroom 1

• Bedroom 2

The baseboard heaters in the bathroom and bedrooms each have their own dials and need to be turned on individually.

Cooling

There is no AC at Maplewood Cottage as it is generally not needed. There are fans located in the living room and in each bedroom. In the summer months, it is recommended to keep the windows closed in the afternoons and open in the evenings. There is a dehumidifier in the living room as well.

• Inside Left & Right (zone 1),

• Inside Center speaker (zone 2)

• Outside (zone 3)

• Garage (zone 4)

These two rules will avoid damaging the sound system.

Select Channel on receiver from the following options:

If you’re planning to enjoy either fire pit in the front or back of the property please purchase your own firewood bushel in town.

Firewood located inside woodshed is NOT for rental use, it is homeowner property.

There are outdoor string lights in the front yard. To turn them on, use the switch located outside in the covered receptacle by the front door on the exterior cottage wall.

There is no laundry on site.
